Hi, I’m Xu-Cheng He, 何旭成, a researcher studying atmospheric aerosols, clouds and their climatic effects. I’m currently an Academy Research Fellow and group leader at Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR) at University of Helsinki. I also serve as co-PI for the CLOUD project at CERN.
My research combines state-of-the-art mass spectrometric methods, quantum chemical calculations and Earth system modelling to investigate and interpret atmospheric aerosol formation both from ambient observations and chamber simulations.
I’m currently working on a new project that uses the UK Earth System Model to study the effect of particle formation in the climate system with a focus on introducing new mechanisms such as iodine oxoacid particle formation and isoprene new particle formation which have recently been discovered.
You can find me on: ResearchGate, Google Scholar, WebofScience
My research is funded by Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation and Research Council of Finland .
